The Vitruvian Triathlon : Rutland Water, Whitwell
The Vitruvian Triathlon is a middle distance triathlon held at Rutland Water in Whitwell on 13 September 2026. The event offers full triathlon entries, an aquabike option and relay teams.

- Triathlon: 1.9 km swim, 89 km bike, 21 km run
- Aquabike: 1.9 km swim, 89 km bike
The swim takes place in the sheltered bay of Whitwell creek, run as two laps with a wave start and lifeguard and safety cover. The bike uses open public roads around Rutland Water on a new three lap route described as largely flat and fast. The run follows tarmac perimeter tracks around Rutland Water in two laps with a turn point at Normanton Church. The finish area is located at the event hub in Whitwell with spectator access and post-race finisher items.
The event is BTF affiliated and includes on-day support such as comprehensive medical cover, detailed timing and results, a finisher medal and a silicone swim hat. Early bird entry fees are listed for triathlon, aquabike and relay categories; a premium finisher t-shirt is included while the option remains available. Minimum age for entry is 18 years.
