Hose 10
The Hose 10 is a road running event hosted by the Stilton Striders Running Club and Hose Village Hall. It serves as a member of the Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL), and is currently the only race of its specific distance within the league's schedule. The event follows a one-lap route through the Vale of Belvoir on country roads.
Participants follow a relatively flat course that starts and finishes at Hose Village Hall. The route is clearly signed and supported by marshals. Because the race takes place on open roads with traffic moving in both directions, specific safety rules are in place, including a ban on the use of both standard earphones and bone-conducting headphones.
Available distances:
- 10 miles
The race is chip timed and initially restricted to members of clubs affiliated with the LRRL. All entrants must be at least 17 years old on the day of the event. To assist runners during the race, two water stations are positioned at the 4-mile and 7-mile marks. A strict cut-off time of 2.5 hours applies to all participants.
On-site facilities at Hose Village Hall include toilets and a designated area for club tents. Parking is provided in a field opposite the hall, and organizers encourage car sharing due to limited space. Race numbers are collected on the day of the event by a representative from each participating club.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three runners in each specific age category. The event has a maximum capacity of 750 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
