Kings Traverse Ultra
The Kings Traverse Ultra is a point to point trail race held on April 24, 2027, listed in Gastonia, NC. The course covers approximately 31 miles (50K) from Crowders Mountain State Park in North Carolina to Kings Mountain State Park in South Carolina.
The route is a single continuous traverse rather than repeated loops. The course will be marked with ribbon and arrows to help runners stay on track. Weather can vary during the event, including rain and fog, so runners should be prepared for changing conditions.
Aid stations offer basic trail race fuel such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon, plus water, Tailwind, and various sodas. First aid supplies are available at aid stations. Trekking poles are permitted. Bibs must be worn visibly on the front of the shirt or shorts for the duration of the race.
Runners and walkers may participate, but all participants must reach the finish before the 11 hour cutoff. If a participant withdraws, they are asked to notify race staff so organizers know their status. The event is private and only registered participants are permitted on the course.
Entry fees are non refundable if the event is canceled and entries will not roll over to the following year. Deferral options require contacting the race director. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
