Event Overview

The Runway 5k is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026. It is held at the Gastonia Municipal Airport, located at 1030 Gaston Day School in Gastonia, North Carolina. The event supports the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Program.

Course Details

The course is a USTF-certified 5k distance. It starts and finishes directly on the airport runway.

Awards & Amenities

All participants receive a finisher medal at the finish line. Awards are given to the first overall male and female finisher. Age group awards are presented for first, second, and third place across multiple categories for both men and women:

Water and snacks are provided at the finish.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the race venue, Gastonia Municipal Airport. There is a one-hour maximum time limit to complete the course due to runway closure regulations.

Registration
