Mountaineer Rumble 12 Hour
The Mountaineer Rumble 12 hour run takes place at Kings Mountain State Park in Clover, SC. The event is organized by Mountaineer Rumble Events and uses a single loop of about 4.5 miles that repeats for the duration of the 12 hour event.
The loop includes sections of the National Recreation Trail (Blue Blaze), the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze), the Living History Farm, and the Historic Farm Trail (Yellow Blaze). Runners will pass views of Lake Crawford and Lake Crawford Dam, creeks, rolling hills, and animals such as horses, cattle, and donkeys at the Living History Farm. Running under a full moon is mentioned for this event.
An aid station and a drop bag area are located on the course so runners can access supplied items on each loop. Organizers will provide water, Gatorade, Tailwind, and Skratch. Food and gels are the responsibility of each runner. The event notes that park insurance and admission are required for each participant and that organizers will cover those expenses.
The stated goal of the Mountaineer Rumble is to highlight portions of the Kings Mountain State Park trail system and to support further improvements to the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
