Mountaineer Rumble 12 Hour Trail Run
The Mountaineer Rumble is a 12 hour trail event held at Kings Mountain State Park in Clover, SC. Participants run repeated laps of a 4.5 mile loop that follows sections of the National Recreation Trail (Blue Blaze), the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze), the Living History Farm, and the Historic Farm Trail (Yellow Blaze. Each loop passes views of Lake Crawford and Lake Crawford Dam, creeks, rolling hills, and farm animals at the Living History Farm. Portions of the course are run under a full moon.
Runners pass the aid station and a drop bag area on every loop, giving access to race-provided fluids and personal gear without leaving the course. The event provides water, Gatorade, Tailwind, and Skratch; food and gels are the responsibility of each runner. Organizers cover park-required insurance and admission costs per runner. The stated goal is to highlight parts of the Kings Mountain trail system and to support improvements to the park. Special pricing applies for 2026 as part of efforts to lower participant costs.
