Kandace Helms 5K
The Kandace Helms 5K is the 10th annual event held on September 12, 2026 at Betty G Ross Park in Lincolnton, North Carolina. The program includes a timed 5K and a short kids fun run.

The 5K course follows the rail trail and starts and finishes at Betty G Ross Park. Registration windows differ by event: 5K registration opens October 29, 2025 and closes July 30, 2026 with a $25 fee; the Kids Fun Run registration opens October 29, 2025 and closes September 9, 2026 and is free. Registrants before July 31, 2026 are eligible for a $100 gift card drawing.
Event shirts and participation medals are guaranteed for registrations completed by September 5, 2026. Packet pickup and on-site registration are offered on race day.
Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers (male and female) and by age-group (male and female) in these categories: 17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64, 65 and over.
Proceeds support a nonprofit 501(c)(3) foundation that funds a scholarship program for Lincoln County graduates and other youth organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
