South Street Youth Center Family 5K
The South Street Youth Center Family 5K is a community run and walk held at Jamaica Pond Boathouse in Jamaica Plain, Boston on October 18, 2026. The event offers a single course of 5K consisting of two clockwise loops around the pond plus a short extension and return to complete the distance.
All runners and walkers are welcome and there is no entry fee for participants aged 17 and under. Costumes are encouraged and prizes are awarded for best costumes in Adult, Youth, and Family categories. Medals are given to top runners, with awards for the top two finishers in each gender category M, F, and X across age groups 13 and under, 14 to 18, 19 to 35, 36 to 50, 51 to 65, and 66 and over.
Event amenities include costume awards, top runner awards, live results, free photos, and a fun run gift for every participant. Bib pickup and same day registration occur at the race site on race day. Registration fees vary by registration date and optional processing fees apply; children 17 and under enter free.
