Chelsea Road Race 5K
The Chelsea Road Race 5K is a community road race held in Chelsea, Massachusetts on September 5, 2026. The event follows a scenic route through the city that passes local landmarks and highlights Chelsea's cultural heritage. This is the third annual edition.
The program introduces wheelchair divisions for female and male participants for the first time and is designed to include adaptive athletes alongside runners and joggers. The race is organized by the City of Chelsea - Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs and is funded in part by the Chelsea Community Fund and a grant from the Chelsea Cultural Council, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council.

Logistics note that the course will reopen for road traffic one hour after the race begins. A portion of the course will be under construction before the event; participants should take care around road plates and uneven pavement. The start area is on Arlington Street in front of the Williams School at 180 Walnut Street. Parking options include the Williams School lot, Fifth Street lots under Route 1, the 216 Spruce Street lot (not for MGH employees), and street parking. Transit access includes the Bellingham Square SL3 Silver Line stop, Chelsea Commuter Rail, and buses 111, 116, and 117.
Bibs may be picked up in the days before the race at the Arlington Street entrance of Williams Jr High. The first 500 registered participants receive an official event T-shirt and all finishers receive a commemorative medal. Finish line photos will be available after the race.
