About the race
Rotary Covered Bridge Race 5K Walk/Run takes place in Winterset, Iowa on October 10, 2026 at 400 South 9th Street. The event is sponsored by Winterset Rotary and includes a main 5K and a separate children's race.
Distances:
- 5K
- 70 yards for ages 4 and under
- 220 yards for ages 5-7
- 880 yards for ages 8-12
Registration options shown include a standard fee for the 5K and a Family Team of Two option. A children's race fee is listed separately. Pre-registration is offered beginning August 17 with a late registration period available closer to the event.
Race day packets can be picked up at the City Park in the hour before the run. Age divisions for the 5K run/walk are 14 and under; 15-18; 19-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; and 70 plus. Medals are awarded to first, second, and third place in each age group. T-shirts are provided for each paid entrant.
