Booneville Backroads Ultra
The Booneville Backroads Ultra is an ultrarunning event in Booneville, Iowa, held on September 5, 2026. The course travels through rural Iowa and the Bridges of Madison County area and passes small local communities. The terrain includes thousands of feet of elevation gain, many hills, and level B roads that can become very rough when wet. The event is described as grassroots and subject to unpredictable fall weather.

Organizers note that participants have historically carried cue sheets. For upcoming races, the 50K, 100K, and 100-mile routes will be marked in addition to the cue sheets. Organizers will continue to set aid stations and will allow crew support on course with limits: one crew vehicle per participant or one crew vehicle per group of runners. Further restrictions for crew support will be published by the organizers. To encourage female participation at ultra distances, the event will issue discount codes to runners involved with Trail Sisters groups.
