Booneville Backroads Ultra - September 5, 2026
The Booneville Backroads Ultra takes place in Booneville, Iowa, with a staging address near 120th St, Van Meter, IA 50261. The event offers the following distances:
- 100 Miler
- 100K
- 50K
- 10K
The course runs through the Bridges of Madison County and rural Iowa countryside. Routes include thousands of feet of elevation gain and many hills. Portions of the course use level B roads that can become very difficult when wet. The event passes through small communities and is organized as a grassroots race.
Changes announced for 2026 include three main items. The 50K, 100K, and 100 mile courses will be marked in addition to a required cue sheet. Female runners who belong to a Trail Sisters group may receive a discount through a provided code after contacting the organizers. Crew support will be allowed on course with restrictions: one crew vehicle per participant or one vehicle per group, and crew support will be supplemental to aid stations; additional rules will be published later.
