Ocean's 26.2 Relay Race and 6k run and Ruck
This event in Palm Coast, FL is centered on a marathon distance relay using a three-loop course that starts, ends and holds all exchanges in the same transition area. The Atlantic Ocean runs near the course for much of the route. The loop format was adopted due to permitting and keeps exchanges in one place.
Distances and formats
- 26.2 miles relay for teams of 2 or 3 runners or ruckers
- 26.2 miles solo marathon, with a 6.5 hour cutoff
- 6k (3.7 miles) loop run on Mala Compra Trails
The 6k course is mostly hard packed trail and boardwalk with some sidewalk along A1A and Mala Compra Road; 6k participants complete the designated loop once. 6k finishers receive a custom beanie, a finishers medal and food at the finish area, and awards are planned for top finishers in several categories.
Teams are classified as Male, Female or Coed. Each team must have a designated captain who registers and pays for the team before inviting teammates to register. Ruck relay teams follow the same team format; ruckers receive a patch and a custom medal. Awards are planned for top teams in the 2 and 3 person relay divisions and for top finishers in the 6k and masters categories.
