LARC in the Park 5K Run/Walk
LARC in the Park is the 2nd Annual community 5K Run/Walk held on October 18, 2026 at Rockland Lake State Park in Valley Cottage, NY. The event includes a 5K (3.1 miles) race and a Kids' Dewey Decimal Dash (100 yards) for younger participants.
Proceeds benefit the Library Association of Rockland County Scholarship Fund and support professional development for LARC members. LARC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports and promotes Rockland County public libraries.
Registration opens April 16, 2026 and is available by online entry only. Published online pricing examples include: 5K entry for ages 17 and older at $32.80 before 9/30/2026 and $43.40 thereafter, 5K entry for ages 16 and younger at $22.20, and the Kids Dash offered free. Prices include race entry and processing fees. The first 150 5K participants to register will receive library-themed socks.
Event logistics note the North Entrance to Rockland Lake State Park and parking lot number 1. The park charges an entrance fee of $10 per vehicle. An awards ceremony will follow the 5K, with overall male and female winners and top three male and female age group winners in the following categories: Under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
