Events
This event features two separate races:
- 5K Run/Walk: A 5 km race that is open to runners and walkers.
- Kids Fun Run: A fun run for children aged 12 and under, approximately 1 km in distance.
Location and Course
The event takes place at Memorial Park on Harrington Avenue in Closter, New Jersey. The main 5K course is USATF certified and described as mostly flat, passing through park neighborhoods and the town center. There are multiple water stops along the route. Electronic timing is used for the 5K.
Schedule and Registration
Both events are held on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Registration opens online on June 29, 2026. Advance online registration is preferred, with limited same-day registration available. Early bib pickup is offered the day before the event at a location in River Vale, NJ.
Awards and Amenities
For the 5K, awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top three in five-year age groups from 10 and under to 80 and over, the fastest male and female Closter residents, and the first three parent-child teams. Participants are only eligible for their highest award. The first 225 registrants receive a moisture-wicking T-shirt.
For the Kids Fun Run, trophies are awarded to the top five girls and top five boys, and all participants receive a ribbon. The first 50 registrants receive a T-shirt and Tyvek bib. Post-run refreshments are provided for both events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
