About the race
Polar Bear Run - 2027 is a winter trail running event held in Fergus and Elora, Ontario, with routes that use trails along the Grand River and nearby forest paths. The event offers three distance options:
- 5 km trail run
- 10 km trail run
- Half marathon (21.1 km) winter trail run
The event includes chip timing for electronic results, participant t-shirts, finisher medals, post-race coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, plus prizes and snacks. Parking is listed at 35 Farley Road, Fergus (Grace Christian Fellowship). A map of the routes is noted as coming soon.
An award ceremony recognizes participants with medals and prizes; a trophy titled "The Polar Bear" is awarded to the fastest male and female. The event also functions as a fundraiser for Servant's Heart Ministry. All proceeds are directed to that ministry with a stated fundraising goal of CA$35,000 to purchase a dedicated food delivery truck to support local food distribution and clothing programs.
