Kitchener Kids with Cancer Run & Walk
Kitchener Kids with Cancer is a fundraising run and walk held at Kiwanis Park in Kitchener, Ontario. The event offers timed and untimed options and supports the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario, with a published fundraising total and a stated fundraising goal.
Distances offered include:
- 5 km run or walk
- 10 km run
- Kids 200 m for children age 7 and under
The 5 km course is one loop with an out-and-back section; the 10 km is two loops of the 5 km route. The course runs mostly on dirt trails inside Kiwanis Park, is certified and sanctioned by Athletics Ontario, and has marked kilometres. Water stations are provided: one on the 5 km route and three on the 10 km route. Runners are asked to stay to the right on trail sections. Volunteers and participants may park on the park grounds; animals are permitted in the park but not on the run or walk courses.
All finishers receive a finisher medal. The first 700 registrants receive a technical event t-shirt. A Kids 200 m entry is free for eligible children when registered in the 5 km event. Stroller occupants are free but must be registered and accompanied by a separate participant. Registration is non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable.
Post-race offerings include refreshments and musical entertainment included with entry, on-site food trucks for purchase, fundraising prizes, and a 50/50 draw. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
