About the race
Beat Bechtel is scheduled for September 13, 2026 at Bechtel Park in Waterloo, Ontario. The event is a chip-timed trail race organized by Run Waterloo and listed as part of the Run Pure + Simple series.
The course is a certified two-loop layout consisting of a 2.5 km measured loop on unpaved park trails, producing a total race distance of 5k. A course map was released on March 31, 2026. Timing uses reusable chips that participants must return after finishing. Results are published to the event timing site after the race.
The event format intentionally excludes typical race extras: there is no regular swag and minimal food or awards. Entry is free for Run Waterloo members; the public fee is shown as CA$18.58 (displayed as $15 plus fees and taxes). All entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable. Strollers are not permitted on the course. Kit pickup takes place on race day at Bechtel Park.
