Valley of the Owls Run
The event takes place around the village of Ousden, known as the Valley of the Owls in Suffolk, and uses countryside roads described as some of the oldest in England. Race base is at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX.
Distances offered include:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra
The 5k and 10k use the Denham Flats route as an out-and-back, with turnaround points required. The half marathon uses the Dalham Kiln loop as a single lap. The marathon comprises two laps of that loop. The ultra includes the run to the 5k turnaround point as part of its longer distance.
There is an aid station offering drinks and nibbles approximately every 10k. Race HQ and the base camp are located at the start and lap point and will host a water and aid station. Parking is included with entry. The event operates a cupless policy so participants must bring their own bottles or cups. The organiser specifies a seven hour cut off. Maximum entries are 300 and the minimum age is 18 years. Entries close on 04/06/2027 and registered participants receive an email confirmation with a race briefing information pack. The organiser's terms cover transfer, virtual entry and related deadlines and fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
