Ickworth Sunset Chase
A trail running event held within Ickworth Park, a National Trust country estate near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The route passes landscaped parkland, meadows and woodland and includes a new limestone path and stretches of footpaths across rolling countryside. The course is multi terrain and appropriate grippy footwear is recommended.
Distances
- 10 km
- 5 km
The event is chip timed and all finishers receive a medal; trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. First aid provision will be available. The event operates as a cupless race: water refill points are provided but no disposable cups will be given. Competitors are asked to carry a torch for their own safety.
Entry information notes an entry fee of £27 (£25 for attached club runners) and an additional £2 fee applies to non attached club runners to meet UK Athletics rules. Entrants must be age 16 or over for the 10 km and age 12 or over for the 5 km. Race numbers and timing chips are collected at the race registration desk on the day and are not posted in advance.
Parking at the estate is free but entirely at vehicle owners’ risk. Race headquarters are located near the start and the start and finish are marked by an inflatable gantry. Recorded times are contracted to a third party; organisers do not accept responsibility for timing equipment failure. By entering, competitors accept event terms, medical responsibility for themselves, and consent to use of event photos and video. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
