Ickworth Sunset Chase 2026
The Ickworth Sunset Chase is an evening running event held at the Ickworth Estate, a National Trust country property located in Bury Saint Edmunds. Participants run through a landscape consisting of parkland, meadows, and forest areas as the sun sets. The event offers two distinct distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The multi-terrain course utilizes a variety of surfaces, including limestone paths, footpaths, and woodland trails. The routes start and finish near the historic domed rotunda building. While both distances cover the estate grounds, the 10 km course also includes sections through the parkland of Lownde Wood.
All participants receive chip-timed results and a finisher's medal. Trophies are awarded to top-performing runners. As a sustainability measure, the race is cupless; drinking water is provided at the start and finish lines for participants to refill their own bottles. Medical support and first aid are available at the race headquarters near the start line.
Registration and race pack collection take place on-site on the day of the event. Participants must be at least 12 years old for the 5 km distance and at least 16 years old for the 10 km distance.
