Ickworth Sunset Chase
Ickworth Sunset Chase is a chip timed trail event held in Ickworth Park, a National Trust country estate near Horringer, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The event offers two distance options:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The route is multi terrain and passes over a new limestone path, stretches of footpaths, woodland and meadows in rolling countryside. The limestone sections provide firmer underfoot surfaces while other stretches use natural trails through the estate.
All finishers receive a medal and the top three male and female finishers receive trophies. The 10 km is chip timed and times are recorded by a contracted timing provider; the organisers accept no responsibility for failure to record times. Entrants should secure their timing chip in line with instructions to ensure a recorded time.
The event is cupless: fresh drinking water is available for refilling bottles but no single use cups are provided. First aid is available at the event. Age restrictions apply: participants must be at least 16 years old on race day to enter the 10 km and at least 12 years old to enter the 5 km.
Race headquarters and the race start are located close together within the estate. Parking is provided free of charge but vehicles are left at owners risk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
