50 km Boudicca Way Ultra, 18 September 2027
The event is a 50 km ultramarathon on 18 September 2027 that follows the Boudicca Way from Diss to Norwich along a well established long distance path. The route is well marked and the running surface is generally good. The field is limited to 150 places and the event is run with a 10 hour time limit. The race is licensed by the Trail Runners Association and held under UK Athletics rules; permit number is to be confirmed.
The route passes through historic South Norfolk villages, including Saxlingham Nethergate and Shotesham, and goes by Caistor Roman Town. Caistor is noted as one of only three Roman towns in the UK that has not been built on and was the capital and stronghold of the Iceni tribe; archaeological finds at the site date back to the 1st century AD. The start is at Hope Church, Vinces Road, Diss, located about 200 metres from Diss train station. The finish is at Trowse Common, Trowse, Norwich, with drop bags and a rest area at the Manor Rooms a short walk from the finish. A GPX route file is available for the course.
