About the race
HBF Run for a Reason is a community running event organised by HBF and held in Perth on Whadjuk Boodjar with a course along the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River). The event features multiple race options and includes mass participation by runners, joggers, walkers and wheelers.
The event reported 40,000 participants in 2026 and raised more than $1.85 million for over 350 charities that year. Since 2010 the HBF Run for a Reason community has donated a cumulative total of over $16 million to charitable causes.
Photography for participants is provided by NORTHSOUTH LIVE and race timing results are available through official race timing services. The event acknowledges and pays respect to the Whadjuk Noongar people as the Traditional Custodians of the land where the event takes place.
