Light Horse Ultra
Light Horse Ultra is a timed loop event held at Perry's Paddock, Yellagonga Regional Park in Woodvale on Saturday May 22, 2027. The event is held as an act of remembrance for Australians who have served, and includes an annual dawn service featuring The Last Post and Reveille before the running events begin.
Races take place on a flat 2.61 km circuit that uses limestone, boardwalk and asphalt. Runners change direction every three hours. The course is close to the race village and aid stations, and runners pass through the Avenue of Honour where marquees and supporters line the edge of the course.
There are multiple timed event options and a 24 hour relay format for teams of 2, 3, or 4 who share a single timing chip and exchange in a designated zone. During the final hour all teammates may join on course together.
A dedicated 1 hour kids event and a 1 hour Pooch and Partner event use a high visibility 550 m loop. Dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Volunteers staff aid stations and the event village throughout the day and night.
