Celtic Classic 5K
The event is a 5K run or walk along historic Bethlehem streets and trails, presented by Bethlehem Morning Star Rotary. The course begins at the Bethlehem Area Public Library, proceeds north on N New St, turns left onto W Broad, continues south on Main St to the D&L Trail, follows the trail west for about one mile, then returns to finish at Sand Island in Bethlehem, PA.
The race is the opening event for the Tartan Parade. Kilts and plaid are encouraged and participants who play bagpipes are welcome to bring them. Chip timing is provided, with age-group and overall awards presented near the finish area.
Registration and race packet pickup occur at the Bethlehem Area Public Library. Entry fees apply and a limited number of event shirts are available to early entrants. Refreshments are provided before and after the race, and restrooms or porta-potties are available near the start and finish.
Proceeds support Morning Star Rotary programs for local students, including college scholarships, STEM and leadership camps for middle and high school students, international exchange programs between families, and a speech contest with monetary prizes. The event takes place in conjunction with the Celtic Classic and the activities of Historic Downtown Bethlehem. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
