Musser Madness endurance race

The Musser Madness endurance race is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Hart Scout Reservation, 1425 Camp Rd, Pennsburg, PA 18073. The event includes multiple formats and a virtual option. Registration for the 6 mile hike and the Virtual event ends on September 2, 2026.

Course, services and logistics

The venue is a rustic Boy Scout camp along the Unami Creek. Trails are primarily double-track technical trails with some single-track sections. Runners should expect tree roots, rocks, dirt, mud, and shaded sections. Loop distances are expected to be around 6.2 miles, subject to change with trail conditions or property changes. The course includes hills and elevation changes.

There will be one aid station supplying carbohydrates, fruits, water, Gatorade, and soda. Hot food will also be available. Parking may be about a quarter mile from the start/finish area, and runners and crew may bring cars closer to the loop start/finish for easier access. There is a last-lap cutoff and all runners must be off the course by the event end time. Volunteers are requested to help clear trails before the race. A relaxed treasure-hunt recovery activity is planned Sunday morning as a post-race option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
