About the race
Courir à la Musique 8K takes place during Festival Acadiens et Créoles on October 10, 2026 at Girard Park in Lafayette, Louisiana. The event includes in-person and virtual 8K options plus a separate 1 Mile race.

Registration is offered in tiers: through July 14 at $45, July 15 to August 18 at $50, August 19 to October 8 at $55, and packet pick-up and race day in-person registration at $60. A youth discount of $35 applies for participants age 12 and under; the discount is applied automatically once the birthdate is entered. A $5 discount is available for Cajun Road Runners Club members; that discount does not apply to the virtual option.
Triple Crown registrations that combine three designated races qualify for exclusive Cajun Road Runners swag. Runners who change from individual race registrations to the Triple Crown should notify organizers by October 24, 2026 to guarantee swag; Triple Crown registrations made after that date may not include swag.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, October 9 (location to be announced); race day packet pick-up and registration are also available. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three finishers in each age group: 12 and under, 13 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 plus, with additional 10-year increments added as needed.
