About the race
The Veterans Memorial 150 is a self-supported 150 mile run across the state of Michigan held over Memorial Weekend. The course uses open roads and approximately 90 miles of rail trail, beginning at the Lake Michigan beach in Ludington and finishing at Veterans Memorial Park in Bay City. The event location is listed as Ludington, MI.
Entrants are required to have a crew for support. Crews may access runners only at safe locations such as parking lots or trail heads; vehicles may not follow a runner at moving pace to provide pacing. Pacers are permitted to join at the Baldwin Trail Head and must register on the event registration platform; pacer registration is free.
Safety and aid are the responsibility of entrants and their crews. Roads on course remain open to traffic and runners must wear lights sufficient to be seen while it is dark and on open roads, such as NoxGear or equivalent. A small number of volunteers will provide supplementary water and occasional snacks at trail intersections, but volunteers should not be relied on as the primary support. The Clare Trail Head marks the 100 mile point where breakfast will be available on arrival.
Time limits are enforced: there is a 52 hour overall time limit and a 32 hour cutoff at the 100 mile mark; entrants must reach the Clare aid station within that cutoff to continue. Finishers receive a belt buckle and registrants who drop are awarded a prize. Charity partners will be announced soon. Registration closes April 30.
