Northeast Ohio Race for Global Water
Ohio American Water Works Association organizes the eighth annual Northeast Ohio Race for Global Water, a community 5K fundraiser held at the South Mastick Picnic Area in Rocky River Reservation, Fairview Park, Ohio on October 3, 2026. The event centers on raising funds for Water for People, a nonprofit that supports access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services.
All net proceeds from the event support water access and sustainability projects around the world. The event description includes global context about water and sanitation needs: more than 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water, 3.5 billion lack adequate sanitation, women and children often spend over four hours a day collecting water, and about 840,000 people die each year from water related diseases.
The entry fee range is listed from $30 to $40, with an early rate of $30 through September 15 and a higher fee on race day. Registrations are non refundable and non transferable. Participant shirts are offered in Adult Small through 2X Large, with a $5 discount for the no shirt option and limited shirt availability after September 15. A course map is provided for the 5K route. Awards for the 5K recognize the top three overall male and female finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
