Zoom San Francisco takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, starting and finishing at East Beach. The event features several race distances, including a Kid's Run.

Distances and Age Groups

The event offers the following distances:

  • 5K, with specific events for participants aged 12 & under and 13-17.

Course Details

All races start at East Beach and head west along the Golden Gate Promenade. The 5K course climbs up the Battery East trail to the Golden Gate Bridge before returning. The 10K and Half Marathon routes continue under the Golden Gate Bridge and follow the Coastal Trail toward Baker Beach. The 10K turnaround point is at the Baker Beach aid station. The Half Marathon course continues through Seacliff along the Coastal Trail, turning around at Lands End overlooking the historic Sutro Baths. All distances are measured using a Rolatape surveyor's measuring wheel.

Course elevation gains are 150 feet for the 5K, 600 feet for the 10K, and 1,110 feet for the Half Marathon. The surfaces are a mix of single-track trail, crushed rock, and asphalt, with the exact percentages varying by distance.

Event Information

Race-day check-in begins at 7:30 AM at the East Bluff picnic area. Participants are asked to arrive 45 minutes before their event start time. Limited free parking is available at East Beach, with paid parking across from the start/finish line at the Mason Street Warehouse lot. There is no bag check, but non-valuable items may be left at the start/finish.

The course is marked with signage. Headphones are allowed only on dirt road sections, not on single-track trails, while crossing roads, or at aid stations and the finish line. Dogs are not permitted on the course.

Fully-stocked aid stations are located every 2-3 miles, offering fresh fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink. Participants are advised to carry at least 20 ounces of water between stations. The event is cupless; runners must bring their own hydration container. Disposable cups are available upon request.

Timing and Awards

Results are timed using Bibtags by MyLaps, and "Gun Time" is used. Results are published online every 10 minutes. The time limit for all events is 3.5 hours.

All pre-registered runners receive a t-shirt, and all finishers receive a custom medal. The top three overall male and female winners in each distance win an award and race credits valid for three months. The top three finishers in each age group and gender also receive award medals.
