Peacock Gap Trail Run
Peacock Gap Trail Run takes place on December 5, 2026 at China Camp State Park in San Rafael, California, with the start/finish area at Miwok Meadows. Registration will open soon. The event has a total capacity of 275 runners across all distances.
The event offers the following distances:
- 10K (6.3 miles, 1,140′ elevation gain)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles, 1,800′ elevation gain)
- 30K (19.5 miles, 2,735′ elevation gain)
Courses use a mix of twisting single-track trails and non-technical fire roads, with marked climbs beginning about 1.5 miles into the route. Runners encounter views of Mt. Tamalpais, San Pablo Bay, and San Francisco Bay while traversing forested sections and open trails on the San Pablo Bay side. The majority of surfaces are moderately technical dirt trails; hiking or trekking poles are permitted.
Aid stations provide a variety of food and electrolyte options and include basic first aid supplies but no anti-inflammatory medicine. The event is cupless; runners must carry their own water bottle or reusable cup and are encouraged to carry at least one 20 oz bottle. Disposable timing chips are attached to the back of each bib. Drop bag services are not available. Parking is free; participants are asked to park along N. San Pedro Road at the Miwok Meadows entrance and walk the dirt access road to the start area. All finishers receive a custom medal and the top three overall finishers in each race receive trophies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
