Midway Shelter Winter Run / Walk
The Midway Shelter Winter Run / Walk takes place on December 5, 2026, at the Bay Farm Ferry Terminal in Alameda, CA. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run/Walk
- 1/2 mile Kids Run for ages 12 and under
Course and logistics
The 5K and 10K use a flat out-and-back course along the shoreline of Bay Farm Island with views of San Francisco and Alameda Main Island. The first half runs on Harbor Bay Road with lanes closed for runners and the return portion uses trails. The kids race is a 1/2 mile circular loop out and back on the shoreline trail. There is plenty of parking at the ferry terminal. Packet pick up is available on December 4 and December 5 at Lauren's Closet, 1420 Park St, Alameda. Snacks and drinks are provided after the races.
Charity and organization
The event supports Midway Shelter, which provides emergency shelter to women and children experiencing homelessness.
