Zoo Stampede 5K Run/Walk

The Zoo Stampede 5K Run/Walk is an annual event held at the Salisbury Zoo in Maryland. The course begins at the zoo's East Gate and leads participants through the zoo grounds and along the Salisbury City Park greenway. The terrain consists primarily of a crushed-stone path.

This edition of the race features a Monarch Butterfly theme to recognize the Monarch SAFE program. Participants are encouraged to wear animal-themed costumes, with prizes awarded for creative outfits. Following the race, the zoo hosts an educational community day focused on the conservation program.

  • 5 km (3.1 miles)

The registration fee includes a tech shirt for those who sign up by the mid-April deadline. After completing the course, participants receive refreshments such as bagels, fruit, and beverages. All proceeds from the entry fees are used to support the Salisbury Zoo.

The event recognizes various achievements with prizes. The overall male and female winners receive shoe gift certificates, and medals are provided to the top three finishers in each age category. First-place winners in these age groups also receive gift cards. Due to zoo regulations, pets are not permitted at the event; only service animals are allowed on the grounds.
