The DUC

The Delmarva Ultra Challenge (DUC) is a 100K trail event in Pocomoke, MD, scheduled for February 6, 2026. The race is organized as two consecutive 50K trail runs held over two days. Packet pickup occurs before the first run at an undisclosed location.

Format and entry

The format consists of a first 50K run held Friday night at an undisclosed location that participants learn a few hours before the start, followed by the traditional Algonquin 50K course the next morning. Each runner’s two finish times are added together to determine the top male and female DUC finishers.

Entry is limited to 30 open spots. Organizers make the final selection of entrants. To be considered, a runner must be signed up to run the Algonquin event and have completed a 50-mile or longer race within the last year, finishing under that race’s official cutoff time. Organizers note that night running experience and strong mental resilience are important for this format.

Registration closes on Mon, Dec 22. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
