Zip Thaw

Event Overview

The Zip Thaw is a canicross event on March 15, 2026. It is hosted by TYDISH Running at the Lake Geneva Ziplines and Adventures facility in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The event uses over 12 miles of wooded, single-track trails, which are shared with mountain bikers.

Distances and Course

There are two distance options:

• 4 Miler: A loop with 463 feet of elevation gain and 479 feet of loss.
• 8 Miler: This consists of two laps of the 4-mile loop. The mass start begins at 9:00 AM on a gravel service road. The course is marked with yellow utility ground flags and finishes where it started. Cut-off times are 10:30 AM for the 4-mile option and 11:45 AM for the 8-mile option.

Canicross Format

The event is dog-powered. Dogs must run in a non-restrictive "Y" type harness attached to a bungee line or handheld leash; the human must also wear a harness. Off-leash running is not allowed, and certain collars or face harnesses are prohibited.

Schedule and Amenities

Check-in and gear check begins at 7:45 AM on event day. Race-day registration is not available. Bib, race swag, and merchandise will be available at check-in. Indoor spaces and full restrooms are available for participants and crew; dogs are not allowed inside the building. A water and electrolyte refill station is located at the start/finish area. This is a cupless event, so participants must bring their own hydration vessel. Water bowls for dogs are also provided. There are no aid stations or restrooms on the course. After the run, warm food, drinks, and snacks will be served indoors.

Rules and Notes

The event is alcohol-free and cupless. Noisemakers like cowbells are not permitted. Podium awards are given to the top three women's and men's teams for each distance. All participants receive a finisher's token. A non-competitive, untimed "Run-ation" option is also available, where registration acts as a donation.
