Jingle for Janet 5K/3K : Waterford, Wisconsin
Jingle for Janet is an annual December fundraising event in Waterford, Wisconsin, that supports research via the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. The event raises funds in memory of a longtime Waterford resident who died from cholangiocarcinoma in 2018. Since the first edition in 2018 the event has raised over $63,000 and organizers report a 30 percent increase in survival linked to research efforts during that period.
The event features two distance options:
- 5K run, timed and competitive, with age-group awards.
- 3K walk, untimed and non-competitive.
The on-site 5K uses 10-year age groups for both genders and awards medals to the top three finishers in each age division; there are additional age groups for participants under 20. Teams may be formed with at least three individuals and will be eligible for awards for the top three 5K teams both competitively and by fundraising.
A virtual runner or walker option is available for those who cannot attend in person; virtual participants are asked to time themselves and submit results. Online registrations and dynamic bib assignment remain open up to the start of the race, and on-site registration is also available. If a T-shirt or beanie is ordered after December 1, it must be picked up on-site on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
