Cold Coding - Lake Geneva, WI
Cold Coding is a dog-focused running event organized by TYDISH Running at Lake Geneva Ziplines and Adventures (N3232 County Road H). The course is built as a 4 mile loop on winding single-track and shared mountain bike trails with some technical sections and bridges. The 4 mile loop has 463 ft of ascent and 479 ft of descent. Participants may choose to run one loop (4 miles) or two loops (8 miles) on the day.
The event centers on Canicross, where a runner is attached hands-free to a dog with a bungee line and waist belt. Runners may also use a Y-shaped harness with a hand-held leash; only participants running with a dog are eligible for podium awards. Awards are given to the top three women and men overall in each distance, and finishers receive a small finisher item rather than a medal. If a runner shortens their preselected distance they become ineligible for podium standings.
Registration includes entry, drinks, snacks, and a finisher gift. Water and an electrolyte drink will be available on course but single-use disposable cups will not be provided, so participants should bring their own hydration vessel. A table will be available for drop bags for multiple-loop runners. Alcohol is not served at the event. Cowbells and other persistent noise makers are not allowed. Participants, crews, and spectators must follow Leave No Trace principles; disrespectful behavior may lead to disqualification. Registration closes Dec 12.
