Abominable Snow Race
The Abominable Snow Race is a winter obstacle event held at Lake Geneva Ziplines & Adventures in Wisconsin. The course is designed by Race Ready Obstacles and features a variety of permanent and seasonal structures. The event includes several participation levels, with different distances and obstacle counts available for participants:
- 5K: includes 15+ obstacles.
- 10K: includes 25+ obstacles.
- 20K (Yeti's Challenge): involves two laps of the 10K course for a total of 50+ obstacles.
- 400m (LiL' Yetis): a loop for children ages 4-11 featuring 7-10 obstacles.
Participants in the "Just for Fun" heats can choose to skip obstacles without penalty and have unlimited attempts at each station. A specific "Heroes Heat" is also available for veterans, first responders, and active military members under these same fun run rules. For those seeking competition, the Elite/Age Group division requires mandatory obstacle completion to remain eligible for podium awards and cash prizes.
The event grounds, known as the Basecamp, include outdoor fire pits, seating, music, and food trucks. Amenities at the venue consist of a free bag drop area, male and female changing tents, and portable restrooms. All finishers receive a medal and a shirt, while those completing the 20K challenge receive three medals. Attendees aged 21 and over receive a ticket for a craft beer, with hot chocolate available as an alternative.
Parking options include a VIP lot directly across from the venue and an offsite lot located two miles away, which provides a shuttle bus service to the site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
