Turkey Trot
Turkey Trot is a six hour, loop based running event held at Suffolk Running Centre, IP29 5AX. The course uses the BACK QUACK route and is organised as repeated laps of a roughly 10.7 km loop that combines road and trail.
The loop is about half road and half trail (approximately 52% road / 48% trail), with 107 m of total climb, a highest point near 91 m and a low point near 49 m. The final section of the loop finishes uphill. A GPX file for the course is available from the course tab.
Participants can choose to run a single lap or multiple laps and may rest between laps. Distances accommodated include:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
- Ultra-Marathon
Race headquarters and the lap point are at the start, where a water and aid station will be located. The event uses a mass start and provides parking included with entry. There is a baggage area in a hut near the start; bags are left at the owner’s risk and should not contain valuables. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Dogs and buggies are not permitted on the route, and headphones are not allowed except for bone conduction devices. Finishers receive a bespoke or standard finisher medal depending on entry choice.
