Youth Haven Miles for Smiles 5K
Youth Haven Miles for Smiles is a running and walking event held on October 24, 2026, at Youth Haven in Rives Junction, Michigan, about halfway between Lansing and Jackson. The event offers a short kids run and 5K options on a mostly wooded cross-country course that is described as flat and with spectator access.
Events and distances:
- 1 mile Kids Fun Run, no registration fee
- 3.1 miles 5K Run, $25 registration fee
- 3.1 miles 5K Walk, $25 registration fee
The 5K walk receives the same participant items as the 5K run, including a drawstring bag, finisher medal, race bib, and a timed walk. The event is paired with an on-site harvest festival featuring food, hayrides, bonfires, a petting farm, a playground, and children's games. A zipline may be operated as part of the festival; zipline riders must wear closed-toe shoes and must weigh between 75 and 275 pounds. The description of the course notes good spectator access along the mostly wooded route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
