Youth Haven Miles for Smiles 5K
Youth Haven Miles for Smiles is a community running event held at Youth Haven, a camp for disadvantaged children in Rives Junction, Michigan, on October 24, 2026. The event offers short and middle distances on a flat, fast cross country course that runs primarily through the woods and provides good spectator access.
Distances offered:
- 1 mile (Kids Fun Run)
- 3.1 miles (5K Run)
- 3.1 miles (5K Walk)
Registration opens August 30, 2026; closing dates vary by event, on October 16 or October 17, 2026. The Kids Fun Run has no registration fee. The 5K Run and 5K Walk each have a registration fee of $25. The 5K Walk includes the same participant items as the 5K Run: a drawstring bag, a finisher medal, a race bib, and a timed walk result.
After the races there is a harvest festival, weather permitting. Planned activities include food, hayrides, bonfires, a petting farm, a playground, children’s games, and a zipline. Zipline safety requirements note that riders must wear close-toed shoes and must weigh between 75 and 275 pounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
