Event details

The Grow Jackson Groundhog Gallop is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Jackson, MI (2400 4th Street, 49203). The event includes the following distances:

This race is part of the 2026 ORS Race Series. The event will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results will be available on the event website.

Purpose and organizer

The event is organized by Grow Jackson, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) focused on ending food insecurity in Jackson. Proceeds will fund Grow Jackson’s Summer 2026 initiatives, including purchase of a farm vehicle and farming equipment to expand urban food-growing operations, community gardens, and food rescue efforts.

Registration, fees and extras

Standard registration fees increase after January 25, 2026. Family or group registrations receive a $5 discount per person when three or more people register together. A donation option offers a $100 donation in exchange for a free entry option under specified conditions; donation-based discounts are time-limited. Long-sleeve race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by January 16, 2026; shirts are available after that date while supplies last.

Logistics and awards

Early packet pickup is offered the day before the race at the Lean Rocket Lab; packet pickup on race day is at Parkside. Parking is available at Parkside, with overflow at Ella Sharp Golf Course and Ella Sharp Park. Dogs are not permitted, except for service dogs. Awards are planned for top three finishers by age group for both the run and the walk, plus overall and masters categories; post-race award pickup will be in the Parkside Middle School cafeteria.
