Jackson YMCA 4th Annual Shamrock Shuffle
The Shamrock Shuffle is an annual community athletic event located in downtown Jackson, Michigan. The event includes multiple participation options through the city streets, starting at the intersection of South Jackson Street and West Michigan Ave. The course features festive decorations, and various local businesses along the route offer specials to participants.
The event features three distinct categories:
- 5k Run (3.1 miles)
- 5k Walk (3.1 miles)
- Kids Run (Free event)
Participants in the 5k Walk are required to walk the entire distance. Those who intend to run at any point during the 3.1 miles must register for the 5k Run. The event is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, with results available live.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as winners in the Masters (40 and over) and Senior Masters (60 and over) categories for both the run and the walk. Additionally, the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from under 12 to 85 and over will receive recognition.
Proceeds from the registration fees support the Jackson YMCA's FOR ALL program. These funds provide access to youth and senior programs, including swim lessons, after-school activities, and chronic disease prevention initiatives for the local community.
