Your Heart Counts 5K

The Your Heart Counts 5K is an annual running event held in Blairsville, Georgia. The event supports cardiac health through the Union General Health System. Participants are encouraged to wear red during the race in support of this cause. The race follows a route through Meeks Park, which is situated in the North Georgia Mountains.

The course features a variety of terrain, consisting of a mix of pavement and hard-pack gravel. Runners will encounter gentle rolling hills as the path travels along a scenic creek. Both the start and finish lines are positioned near Pavilion #3 within the park. Free parking is available for all participants in the main park lots.

The following distance options are available:

  • 5 km (Standard registration)
  • 5 km (Available for participants ages 10 and under)

An awards ceremony follows the event to recognize several categories. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as top masters winners. Additionally, the top three male and female participants in age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over receive recognition. This is a rain or shine event, and a pre-race packet pick-up is held at the Union General Wellness Center the day before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
