Races and logistics

Distances offered:

  • 200 Miler (Full Fury)
  • 100 Miler (Firestarter)
  • 100K (Frozen Toe)
  • 40 Miler (Flintstrike)
  • 40K (Frost Talon)
  • Coosa Challenge (25 km, added in 2025)

The courses use repeated traverses of the Duncan Ridge between Vogel State Park and Skeenah Gap. The 200 Miler consists of 10 traverses of the main ridge line, including an outbound crossing at Wolf Creek and inbound sections on Forest Service Roads 108/107 to Burnett Gap. The 100M and 100K use combinations of full and half traverses; the 40M is two full traverses; the 40K is an out-and-back to Mulky Gap.

Minimum progress rules apply: the 200M requires about one lap per 24 hours with a final 120-hour cutoff. The 100M has cutoffs at several aid points and allows extra time options for older runners. Crew is allowed with one vehicle per runner; placards are required for Bryant Gap and Mulky Gap access. Crew vehicles will be inspected and large vehicles may be restricted.
