Fierce Dragon (H9) overview
The Fierce Dragon is a multi-day trail event organized by H9 Events at Vogel State Park near Blairsville, GA, held January 12 to 17, 2027. The festival comprises several races that use the Duncan Ridge ridge line with Vogel State Park as the primary base and support location.

The 200 mile Full Fury requires ten traverses of the main ridge line, equivalent to five laps between Vogel State Park and Skeenah Gap. Outbound traverses include the Wolf Creek river crossing; inbound sections use FS Roads 108 and 107 to reach Burnett Gap on Highway 180. Only full Vogel-to-Skeenah-to-Vogel laps count. The course is well marked and has no formal entry requirements; runners who cannot continue are shuttled back to Vogel. Cottages, campsites and nearby RV parking are available close to the start and finish areas.
Shorter races reuse sections of the same ridge line. The 100 mile and 100 km races combine full and half traverses. The 40 mile race is one lap and the 40 km race is an out-and-back to Mulky Gap from the Group Shelter. The 200 mile minimum progress is one lap per 24 hours (about 40 miles per day) with a strict final cutoff of 120 hours.
Support locations include the Vogel State Park main shelter with hot food, the Fire Pit, Mulky Gap and Skeenah Gap; a Dragon Locker may be placed at Fish Gap if accessible. Crew support is permitted with one vehicle per runner; meeting points and vehicle placard requirements vary by location and larger vehicles may be restricted.
