About the race
The Yorkshire Coast 5K takes place on Sunday 11 October 2026 in Scarborough, with the start and finish at Scarborough SPA. The route follows the seafront around South Bay, passes the harbour, skirts the headland and passes medieval Scarborough Castle overlooking North Bay before returning to the SPA.
The event encourages entrants to run, jog or walk and is open to participants aged 11 or older on the day. Organisers work with Scarborough Athletics Club and local spectators provide on-course support.
Included with entry are a finisher medal, chip timing, a goody bag and an optional finisher’s t-shirt. Race numbers are posted in advance where possible; postal entries have a deadline after 21 September and race numbers are posted from 8 October, with collection available from the Race Office on event weekend if needed.
Event services at the SPA include an Event Village with food and drink options and partner charity stands, a baggage drop in the Ocean Room on the first floor, and toilets in the SPA and along the course. A water station is positioned between 4 km and 5 km. First aid is available in the Event Village and along the route and a chase vehicle can assist anyone needing help.
There is no parking at the SPA; parking is available in surrounding car parks such as Albion Road, Victoria Road, Falconers Road and St Nicholas Parade. Train travel is not possible on the day due to the timetable. Recycling bins will be provided on course and a JogOn shoe drop-off is located next to the Race Office.
