Event overview
The McCain Yorkshire Coast 5K takes place on Sunday 11 October 2026 and is organised by Run For All (the event moved to Run For All from 2025; it was previously managed by Scarborough Athletics Club). The course starts and finishes at Scarborough SPA and follows a coastal route round South Bay, past the harbour, round the headland, into North Bay and back to the SPA. Entrants must be 11 years or older on event day. Entrants may walk, jog or run.
Included for entrants are a sustainable slate medal, a tree planted on each entrant's behalf and an option to purchase a 100% recyclable finisher t-shirt. Results are published after the event.
On the day and logistics
Race HQ is located at The SPA, Scarborough YO11 2HD. Bag drop is in the Ocean Room on the first floor at the back of the SPA; baggage labels should be attached to bags when handing them in. Water is available between the 4 km and 5 km marks. Toilets are available at The SPA and on course.
First aid is available at Race HQ and along the course and a chase vehicle will be on hand. Race numbers are posted in advance where possible and can be collected from the Race Office on event weekend if needed. There is no parking at The SPA; nearby public car parks are available and road closures will be in place along the seafront in both South and North Bay.
