Event overview
The McCain Yorkshire Coast 5K takes place in Scarborough and is organised by Run For All from 2025. Entrants must be 11 years or older on race day. The race starts and finishes at The SPA, Scarborough YO11 2HD and follows a coastal route around South Bay, past the harbour, round the headland into North Bay and back to The SPA. Run For All and Scarborough Athletics encourage participation by people of different ages and abilities.
Included for entrants are a sustainable slate medal and a tree planted on the entrant’s behalf. There is an option to purchase a 100% recyclable finisher t-shirt.
On the day and facilities
Race HQ is located at The SPA. Baggage drop is in the Ocean Room on the first floor at the back of The SPA. A water station is located between the 4 km and 5 km marks. First aid is available at Race HQ and along the course, and a chase vehicle will be on hand for participants who need assistance. Recycling bins will be provided across the event site and at the water station. Trainer drop-off stations for reuse will be available next to the Race Office in the Event Village. There is no parking at The SPA; parking is available in surrounding areas and road closures will be in place along the seafront in South and North Bay. Train travel is not possible on the day due to the timetable. Results will be published on the event website after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
