Event overview
The McCain Yorkshire Coast 5K is organised by Run For All from 2025. The event starts and finishes at Scarborough SPA. The coastal route runs around South Bay, past the harbour, round the headland into North Bay and returns to the SPA. Entrants must be 11 years or older on event day. A McCain Yorkshire Coast 10K takes place on the same day before the 5K.
Race details and logistics
Included for participants are a sustainable slate medal, a tree planted on the participant's behalf, and an option to purchase a 100% recyclable finisher t-shirt. Race HQ is at The SPA, Scarborough YO11 2HD. Bag drop is in the Ocean Room on the first floor at the back of the SPA. A water station is located between the 4 km and 5 km marks. Toilets are available at The SPA and on the course. First aid will be available at Race HQ and along the route, with a chase vehicle for participants needing assistance.
There is no parking at The SPA. Nearby car parks include Albion Road, Westwood, Victoria Road, Falconers Road and St Nicholas Parade. Road closures are in place along the seafront in both South and North Bay. Bone conducting headphones are permitted, and volume should be kept low.
