Event Overview
The Hardmoors 15 is an approximately 17.5 mile (18 mile) circular trail event in the Hardmoors Race Series. The 2027 edition is scheduled for Saturday 9th January. The event has an 8-hour time limit and a total ascent of approximately 1700 feet (518 metres).
Route
The route starts and finishes at Fylingdales Village Hall in Robin Hood’s Bay, North Yorkshire. It passes through checkpoints at Ravenscar (at 4.5 and 12.5 miles) and Hayburn Wyke (at 8 miles). A route description, map, and GPX file are available from the organiser.
Participation Details
The entry limit is 150 participants. Entry fees are £48 for unattached runners and £46 for attached runners. Registration opens at 08:00, with the race start at 09:00. There is a cut-off at the Hayburn Wyke checkpoint (8 miles) by 12:00 (3 hours into the event). Dogs are not permitted at this event.
Kit and Provisions
There is a mandatory kit list which includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat and gloves, a survival bag, a foil blanket, a whistle, a map and route description, a mobile phone, a minimum of 500ml of fluid, and a cup for aid station drinks. Checkpoints provide water, food, and cola.
Finisher Items and Categories
Finishers receive a race medal and a Hardmoors technical t-shirt. Prizes are awarded in several categories, including the first three male and female finishers, and age category awards for MV50, FV50, MV60, FV60, V70, and non-binary participants.
Registration Policy
The organiser does not give refunds for cancellations. Participants may transfer their place to another runner (once the event is full) or defer to the following year's Hardmoors 15, provided this is done up to three weeks before the event. In the case of a race cancellation due to severe weather, a voucher for another Hardmoors race entry is offered instead of a cash refund.
