Hardmoors 15
The Hardmoors 15 is a circular trail race of approximately 17.5 miles, starting and finishing at Robin Hood's Bay with registration at Fylingdales Village Hall. The route follows parts of the Cinder Track and the Cleveland Way and includes varied coastal and moorland terrain. Total ascent is listed as 1700 feet (518 metres).
The event has an overall time limit of 8 hours to complete the course. Entry is limited to 150 participants. Entry fees are shown as £46 for attached runners and £48 for unattached runners. The event has been fully subscribed in recent years. Minimum age is 18.
Checkpoints are located at Ravenscar Station Road (approximately 4.5 miles), Hayburn Wyke (approximately 8 miles) and again at Ravenscar Station Road (approximately 12.5 miles), with the finish back at Fylingdales Village Hall (about 17.5 miles). Each listed checkpoint provides water, food and cola.
Mandatory kit must be carried for the duration of the event and includes hat and gloves, a waterproof jacket with taped seams, a minimum of 500 ml of drink, whistle, map and route description, survival bag or foil blanket, mobile phone, a cup for aid stations and means to attach the race number. Dogs are not allowed.
On successful completion runners receive a race medal and a Hardmoors technical T shirt. If the race is cancelled for safety reasons no cash refunds are given; an entry to another Hardmoors race or transfer to a future event may be offered.
