Dalby Forest Wild Winter Trail Runs 2026

The event features a Trail Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km held within Dalby Forest on the southern slopes of the North York Moors. The venue address is Dalby Forest, Low Dalby, Thornton le Dale, Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 7LT. The main event area is Adderstone Field, located a few miles past the visitors centre in the forest centre.

Distances are:

  • Marathon – 26.2 miles (2 laps of half marathon), cut-off 6 hours.
  • Half Marathon – 13.1 miles single loop through forest trails.
  • 10km – 6.2 miles shorter winter trail option.

Routes mainly follow forest fire roads and provide views across the North York Moors. Route maps are provided for the 10km and Half Marathon; the Marathon is two laps of the Half Marathon route.

The event is canicross friendly: one well-controlled dog per runner is welcome and dogs must remain on a lead at all times. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North for instant race results. The finish line includes a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and snacks and drinks.

Subsidised parking is available at £4 per vehicle, with payment made after the event at Forestry England pay machines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
