Winter Trail Runs at Dalby Forest

Event details
The Winter Trail Runs take place on Sunday 30 November 2025 at Dalby Forest, Low Dalby, Thornton le Dale, Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 7LT. The event base is at Adderstone Field, a few miles past the visitors centre in the centre of the forest. Registration opens 6 December 2024 and closes 27 November 2025. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. One well-controlled dog per runner is allowed; dogs must remain on a lead. Subsidised parking is available with payment made after the event at Forestry England pay machines.
Distances
- Marathon - 26.2 miles (two laps of the half marathon route, 6 hour cut-off)
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles (single loop on forest trails)
- 10km - 6.2 miles (shorter winter trail route)
Course and finish line
Routes mainly follow forest fire roads and include views across the North York Moors. The marathon is two laps of the half marathon route. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, snacks, and drinks. Dalby Forest is a Forestry England site on the southern slopes of the North York Moors with over 8,500 acres of woodland and multiple trails for running, walking, and cycling.
