Dalby Forest Wild Winter Trail Runs take place on 29 November 2026 at Dalby Forest, Low Dalby, Thornton le Dale, Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 7LT. The event uses Adderstone Field, a few miles past the visitor centre in the centre of Dalby Forest. The organiser is Wild Deer Events.

Distances

  • Marathon - 26.2 miles; two laps of the half marathon route; cut-off time 6 hours.
  • Half Marathon - 13.1 miles; single loop through forest trails.
  • 10km - 6.2 miles; shorter winter trail distance.

Route and facilities

Routes mainly follow forest fire roads and provide views across the North York Moors. Route maps are available for the 10km and half marathon. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and snacks and drinks. The event is canicross friendly: one well-controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times.

Logistics and entry

Entry fees are shown in the event information and vary by distance; published amounts range from about £24 to £34. Subsidised parking is available at £4 per vehicle, with payment made after the event at Forestry England pay machines. Age minimums apply by race distance as listed in the event information.
