YMCA of the Chesapeake Turkey Trot Charity 5K
The event is a series of charity 5K runs held across multiple Chesapeake locations around Thanksgiving 2026. Each in-person event covers 3.1 miles and is staged at local YMCA sites or community parks, including Perryville Community Park; Wilmer Park in downtown Chestertown; Queen Anne's County Family YMCA in Centreville; Easton Family YMCA at Peachblossom; Pauline F. & W. David Robbins Family YMCA in Cambridge; Richard A. Henson Family YMCA in Salisbury; and Chincoteague High School on Chincoteague Island. A virtual option is also available.
Registration windows and fees differ by option. In-person site registration opens 2026-08-06 and closes 2026-09-28; the virtual option opens 2026-08-04 and closes 2026-09-26. The listed registration fee is $35.00 for each option. Packet pick-up arrangements vary by site: some locations offer pickup on Wednesday, November 26 from 2-7 pm at the local YMCA, while several sites begin packet distribution on Thanksgiving morning at 7 am at the event location. The virtual option allows participants to complete 3.1 miles between November 23 and November 29; shirts for virtual participants are mailed on Monday, November 24.
