2027 Winter Island 5k & 10k
This event offers two race distances at Matapeake Park in Stevensville, Maryland. Points earned count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.

Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before January 6; extras may be available afterwards on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees differ by distance and increase after December 31; race day registration is available with a stated race-morning price increase for each distance.
The event benefits Semper Fi and America’s Fund. Live race results are posted on Athlinks and via a QR code at the race; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event. Photos taken by staff are posted by the Tuesday following the race.
Course services include restrooms at the start/finish and water stations: three stations on the 10k route at about mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one station on the 5k at about mile marker 1.55; Gatorade is available at some stations. Parking is available at Matapeake Park; the location is 1112 Romancoke Rd., Stevensville, MD 21666, with approximate coordinates 38.952798, -76.351175.
The organizer has a banditing policy and does not allow unauthorized runners; violators may be removed or disqualified. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
