Event
The YMCA of Barry County Turkey Trot is the 17th annual run/walk held on November 27, 2025 in Hastings, MI at YMCA Camp Algonquin (2055 Iroquois Trail). The event includes the following distances:
- 5K - Adults 18+
- 5K - Youth 17 & Under
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 5K route begins at Buehler Road, turns right on Woodruff Road, right on Hammond Road, right on Iroquois Trail, and finishes on the front lawn at YMCA Camp Algonquin. The 1 Mile Fun Run begins on Buehler Road, turns left on Iroquois Trail, goes past the camp to a turnaround sign, and finishes on the front lawn at YMCA Camp Algonquin.
Registration and logistics
5K registration pricing and shirt information: early bird by October 31 includes a long sleeve dri-fit shirt - $20 for youth and $30 for adults. Prices from November 1-19 are $25 youth and $35 adults. Late registration (November 20-25) is higher and does not include a shirt - $30 youth and $40 adults. The 1 Mile Fun Run is free but requires registration online or on race day and does not include a shirt. Packet pick-up is available the evening before at the YMCA of Barry County new building (2350 Iroquois Trail) and on race morning at the same location.
Prizes and activities include turkeys for 1st place adult 5K winners, a dozen donuts for 1st place youth winners, and a Best Dressed prize with a finish-line photo. A School Challenge awards a Turkey Trophy to the school with the highest participation rate. Racers are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items for Barry County United Way. Hot cocoa, water, and giveaways are available on the front lawn after the event. Results will be posted on RunSignup after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
