Winter Trail Fest West Half Marathon and 5 Mile
Winter Trail Fest West takes place on February 20, 2027 at Deep Lake Campground, 2526 S Yankee Springs Rd, Middleville, Michigan 49333. The event offers trail racing in late winter conditions that can include snow, slush, ice, and mud.

The Half Marathon course includes rolling hills and sections of rugged singletrack. The route includes a river crossing with an optional 0.25 mile detour to bypass the water. Both distances include a ruck division. Ruck participants are weighed prior to the race; participants under 150 lbs must carry 20 lbs and those over 150 lbs must carry 30 lbs.
There are economy registration options for both distances that omit the race shirt and finishers medal. Virtual entries are available for the Half Marathon and 5 Mile; virtual participants receive mailed race packets after submitting results. Registration opens April 14, 2026, and closing dates and fees vary by entry type, with published fees ranging from $43 to $69 depending on the option.
An early-start category limited to 50 half marathon entrants is offered for those who need extra time to meet course cutoffs; entrants in that category accept that some aid stations may not be staffed and follow specific safety rules.
