Yarrow Splash 10K Trail Run
The Yarrow Splash 10K Trail Run is an autumnal event held in the Yarrow Valley. The course consists of a single-lap 10 km route that takes participants through the heart of the valley during the transition to autumn foliage.
The terrain features a mix of leafy woodland paths and riverside trails. A notable characteristic of the course is the inclusion of river crossings through the River Yarrow. Due to the nature of the terrain, trail shoes are recommended for all participants. The event is organized by a family-run team and emphasizes a supportive atmosphere for those seeking personal bests or those completing their first trail race.
The event base is located at the Flaming Grill Pub in Chorley. This location serves as the hub for pre-race registration and post-race activities, where runners and supporters can gather for food and refreshments. Every finisher receives a custom-designed medal upon completion of the course.
The event includes several competitive categories with prizes awarded to:
- Top three male and female finishers
- First junior male and female
- Winners of each veteran category
- First male and female teams
