Event Overview
The Yankee Springs Trail Run takes place on May 29-30, 2026. It offers four race distances: 10k, 25k, 50k, and 100k. The start and finish location is the Long Lake Outdoor Center in Middleville, Michigan.
The Course
The event uses trails within Yankee Springs. The terrain features hills, rocks, and roots. The trails are noted for draining well. There are no water crossings on the courses. The 10k route has approximately 978 feet of elevation gain, while the 25k route has about 1,388 feet. The 50k and 100k races consist of 2 and 4 laps of the 25k course, respectively.
All courses begin at the Long Lake Outdoor Center. They utilize a network of trails including the Hall Lake Trail, Mountain Bike Trail, and North Country Trail, passing features like the Devil's Soup Bowl and McDonald Lake.
Aid and Support
Aid stations are placed 2 to 4 miles apart. There is one station on the 10k course and three on the 25k loop. An additional aid station is located at the start/finish area, which also serves as a drop bag location.
Pacers are permitted for the 100k race during its 3rd and 4th laps, and for the 50k race on its 2nd lap. Pacers must check in and sign a waiver at the start/finish.
Lodging and Logistics
On-site lodging at the Long Lake Outdoor Center is available. Options include cabins that sleep 4-5 people or single bunks in a shared bunkhouse. Facilities include a bath house with warm showers, outhouses, and electrical outlets for charging devices. Bedding is not provided. Lodging reservations for Friday and Saturday nights can be added during race registration. Nearby state park campgrounds are also an option.
