Event overview

The Yankee Springs Trail Run is scheduled for May 29-30, 2026 at the Long Lake Outdoor Center, 10370 Gun Lake Road, Middleville, MI. The event offers the following race distances:

Course

All races start and finish at the Long Lake Outdoor Center and use local single-track trails. The routes follow the Hall Lake Trail and spur trails past the Devil's Soup Bowl to the Mountain Bike Trail, then proceed to McDonald Lake and return on the North Country, Chief Noonday, Long Lake, and ski trails. The 10k has 978 feet of elevation gain and the 25k has 1,388 feet. The 50k is two laps of the 25k course and the 100k is four laps. Trails drain well and contain hills, rocks, and roots; there are no water crossings.

Support and rules

Aid stations are spaced about 2 to 4 miles apart. The 10k has one aid station, the 25k has three, and there is an aid station at the start/finish with space for drop bags. Pacers are allowed for the 100k on laps 3 and 4 and for the 50k on lap 2; only one pacer at a time is allowed, and pacers must check in and sign a waiver at the start/finish. Pacers may use aid station food but should not cross the finish line.

Lodging and fees

Lodging at the Long Lake Outdoor Center includes cabins (up to 4 or 5 people) and bunk rooms (10 bunks per room). Facilities offer power for basic needs, a bath house with warm showers, and nearby outhouses; participants must bring bedding or a sleeping bag.
